Abrie Brutsche, RN
I am a recent graduate from Regis University's accelerated BSN program and am thrilled and honored to be joining BNM's nursing staff! I have a first degree in Language Studies (Spanish and French) from UC Santa Cruz and worked for five years in cross-cultural education, teaching and guiding youth while traveling in developing countries around the globe. My life's path changed forever when one of my closest friends asked me to act as her birth doula. Her son's birth convinced me that my life's work was supposed to be in maternal health, and I started prerequisites for Regis's nursing program immediately thereafter. I plan to gain crucial experience as a nurse before pursuing a MSN at Frontier Nursing University to become a Certified Nurse Midwife and join the ranks of the amazing women who surround me at this practice.
Susan Mitchell, RN
I am Susan Mitchell, a nurse at BNM. I live here in Boulder with my husband and two children. Before
joining BNM, I worked in labor and delivery for 6 years and taught childbirth classes. Currently, I am a
full-time nurse-midwifery student with Frontier Nursing University. Birth is my passion and being on this
path is my dream coming true. I love working with expectant mamas at BNM and feel proud to be a part
of such a special practice.
Amber Johnson,RN
I am a registered nurse with a background in labor and delivery, public health and forensic nursing. I am a trained doula, massage therapist and sexual assault nurse examiner. I am passionate about women's health and truly believe the health of the world begins with the mother.
I am currently pursing a graduate degree to become a nurse midwife at Frontier Nursing University. I have worked as a nurse in Peru and Costa Rica in addition to travels which have taken me to Mexico, England, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, South Africa, Namibia and Zambia. In the future, I hope to continue using my training overseas in under-served areas around the world.
I am originally from the midwest but am happy to live in beautiful Colorado with my husband, son and daughter. We enjoy most of our time outdoors: hiking, biking, camping and exploring!
